Solar Powered BackpackA lot of people – women in particular – love to don themselves with the latest fashions.  A lot of women are so knowledgeable about the latest fashions that they can even spot an expensive handbag from across the street. Whether you are one of those women or not, did you know how much you can help the environment if you wore clothes made from organic material? Well, many fashion designers are now joining the crusade to help Mother Nature so you don’t need to worry about buying organic clothes that don’t look fashionable or tasteful. You’ll be surprised at how many of the organically made clothes look so chic but is green at the same time. From stunning dresses to soft denim, you won’t run out of choices when it comes to organic clothes that rate high in the fashion scale. You can even buy accessories that are eco-friendly and compliment your clothes at the same time. Now that’s hitting two birds with one stone.

A lot of women agree that it’s so hard to look for that perfect fitting dress, what more for that perfect fitting eco friendly dress. Well, at first it might seem like it’s impossible to look for that perfect fitting clothing you covet, but if you know where to look, then your efforts will be rewarded. However, before jumping into the eco-friendly fashion bandwagon, you need to know about the basics of eco clothing and why bother looking for eco friendly clothes in the first place.

First of all, everyone loves a 100% cotton t-shirt right? But did you know that in order to make a cotton shirt, a third of a pound of fertilizers (chemicals at that) and pesticides are going to be needed. Lots of unnecessary pollution is going to take place and the said t-shirt is probably just a medium sized one. So if you love your cotton t-shirts, there isn’t a need for you to worry. You needn’t stop buying cotton t-shirts altogether. On the contrary, we encourage you to do so – buy organic cotton t-shirts and not the inorganic ones, that is. Many shops and department stores are selling shirts and other kinds of clothes that are made from organically grown cotton. But make sure that what you’re buying is the real deal. Always check the label first and look for certification that the item of clothing you are going to buy is organic and not made with metal dyes or other harmful ingredients.
There are lots of other reasons why eco-friendly fashion is the way to go. First, you help reduce a lot of pollution just by buying organic items instead of their equally fashionable but inorganic counterparts. And that is probably enough reason why organic is the way to go. But if you are not yet sure that buying solely organic clothing will do, then you can still help Mother Nature by simply taking care of all of your clothes – cheap bargains and jaw dropping haute couture pieces alike – to make them last.
